About ClearSignal

What is ClearSignal?
ClearSignal is a real-time AI-powered news intelligence platform. We aggregate articles from 15+ global sources, analyze each using Claude AI, and score them for political bias, embellishment, sensationalism, and coordinated narrative patterns. No advertising. No investors. No editorial agenda.
Who runs ClearSignal?
ClearSignal is an independent, reader-funded project. It is not affiliated with any news organization, political party, government, or corporation. Financial transparency reports are published quarterly.
Is ClearSignal biased?
We apply the same algorithmic methodology to every outlet regardless of political leaning. Our AI scores language patterns, sourcing quality, and emotional tone โ€” not political positions. Scores are generated automatically and never manually adjusted.
How is ClearSignal funded?
Entirely by voluntary reader donations. We accept no advertising, sponsored content, or money from news outlets, governments, or corporations with media interests.

The Scores

What is the NCI score?
NCI stands for Narrative Coherence Index. It measures signs of coordinated information campaigns by analyzing six factors: narrative repetition, simultaneous publication spikes, emotional amplification, source obscurity, keyword saturation, and absence of counter-narratives. 0โ€“30 is organic, 31โ€“60 is coordinated signals, 61โ€“85 is high risk, 86โ€“100 is psyop-pattern.
What does political lean mean?
Political lean is scored from -10 (far left) to +10 (far right) based on language choices, framing, and source selection โ€” not the political topic being covered. The same story can be scored differently depending on how it is written.
What is the embellishment score?
Embellishment measures the use of loaded, exaggerated, or emotionally manipulative language. 0 means neutral and factual. 100 means highly charged and sensationalized. It measures how facts are presented, not whether the facts are accurate.
Can I dispute a score?
Yes. Email press@clearsignal.news with the article URL and your reasoning. We review all disputes and publish our response if a methodological correction is warranted. We do not adjust scores in response to pressure โ€” only in response to demonstrated errors.
