Why we built this

ClearSignal started with a simple question: what if you could see the bias before it shapes what you believe?

I spent years reading the news and feeling like I was missing something. Not the facts — the framing. The same event covered by five different outlets would produce five completely different impressions of reality. That is not an accident. It is a system.

And then there was the coordination. Stories that seemed to appear everywhere simultaneously. The same language, the same emotional framing, the same omissions — across outlets that supposedly had nothing to do with each other. Intelligence analysts have a name for this. Influence operations. Narrative campaigns. Psyops.

I could not find a tool that tracked it. Everything that existed was either politically captured itself, or so vague that it was useless. So I built one.

ClearSignal is the result. An AI-powered system that analyzes every article from 60+ global outlets in real time — scoring how the story is written, not whether it fits a preferred narrative. The same algorithm. Every outlet. No exceptions. No adjustments.

What Makes ClearSignal Different

We score language, not politics

Every score is based on how a story is written — word choice, framing, sourcing, emotional intensity — not on whether we agree with the outlet's politics. Fox News and MSNBC get the same algorithm.

We built the NCI

The Narrative Coherence Index is our core innovation. It detects coordinated narrative campaigns in real time — when multiple unrelated outlets start pushing identical framing simultaneously. This is the signal nobody else is measuring.

We cannot be bought

No advertising. No investors. No outlet can pay us for a favorable score. The only people we answer to are the readers who fund us directly. That is the only model that makes honest scoring possible.

We get better over time

Every article we analyze improves the historical baseline for that outlet. The longer ClearSignal runs, the more accurate the scores become. The database is permanent and growing.

We are not a fact-checker. We score how stories are written, not whether the facts are accurate. For facts, read the original source and think for yourself.

We are not politically neutral in the sense that we have no opinion. We are methodologically neutral — the same system applies to every outlet regardless of our views.

We are not perfect. AI analysis of language patterns is powerful but imperfect. Scores should be treated as signals to prompt further reading, not as verdicts.

We are not affiliated with any news outlet, government, political party, university, or corporation. No one funds us except readers.

Who builds this

ClearSignal is an independent project built and maintained by a small team. We are not journalists. We are builders who got tired of not being able to trust what we were reading.

We run on reader donations, operate from Georgia, and have no intention of selling, raising investment, or compromising the methodology. The platform will stay independent or it will not exist.
